Aging:
Aged in carefully selected French oak barrels (225 liters) and finished in Sherry casks (550 liters).
We have sourced these high quality second hand Sherry casks from Spain. The major criterion in our selection process was the new dimension of flavor passed down through to wood to the Monteru Brandy.
Tasting Notes:
This brandy has a beautiful golden light brown color and a nose bursting with complex aromas of dried fig, walnut, menthol and a hint of cocoa powder.
Once in the mouth, this special cask finish is pleasantly dry and amazingly precise which underpins the sherry top notes for which these casks are famed. The palate boasts notes of raisins, walnut and a herbal touch, reminiscent of traditional vermouth. The long-lasting finish reveals accents of toasted almonds and dried herbs. Pleasantly dry, walnuts and herbs.
